The Astronomy Revolution
CRC Press/Taylor & Francis, 2012
Ellipsis worked with an international group of eminent researchers in astronomy, astrophysics, cosmology, and the history and philosophy of science to develop, edit, and produce this full-color, multi-author volume that celebrates the contributions of Eastern and Western scientific and cultural traditions, both past and present, to our common goal of exploring the Universe. The Astronomy Revolution was published on November 28, 2011 by CRC Press / Taylor & Francis Group, under the scientific editorship of three eminent scientists who helped organize the landmark conference on which the book is based in Beijing in October 2008:
- Donald G. York, Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics, the University of Chicago — Symposium chair and chief volume editor
- Owen Gingerich, Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics — Symposium advisory committee member, volume editor, and chapter author
- Shuang-Nan Zhang, Institute of High Energy Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Department of Physics, University of Alabama —Symposium program committee member, volume editor, and chapter author
This short, positive book review appeared in the May 2012 issue of CHOICE Magazine (Vol. 49, No. 09, P. 436), a publication of the Association of College and Research Libraries.
A Chinese edition of the book was subsequently published.
