While I’m normally here to write nutrition articles, this week is a little different. Last week I raced Escape from Alcatraz Tri in San Francisco. This iconic race has been happening for 40 years and consists of a 1.5-mile swim through the San Francisco Bay, 18 mile hilly bike ride, and an eight mile run that takes place on road, trail, beach, and includes an especially brutal sand ladder feature.
